The image of the roofs this year will probably be the result of last year’s investors’ purchasing decisions. Speaking in a slightly broader context and taking into account the current trends in architecture, it is impossible not to notice the growing popularity of house designs with flat roofs “solo” or in combination with a simple gable roof. The minimalist shape of the building is currently most modern. Of course, this has its advantages, such as: speed of construction, lower costs or the possibility of using ready-made and repeatable elements.

What material will be on top?

Modular sheet metal is becoming more and more popular among all roofing manufacturers who are trying to move away from “made to measure” sheet production. It is a product with a high degree of aesthetics. Modular roof tiles give the roof an extremely elegant character. Its minimalistic and universal design makes it a perfect match not only with classic but also modern buildings. Modularity, which is a special feature of this type of cover, significantly speeds up all assembly works. The small size of the sheets also facilitates storage and transport.

Could there be a clear trend in customer choices based on 2020?

The trend that has been growing for several years, concerns the selection of gutter systems in terms of their matching to popular roofing and building architecture. The roofs I mentioned are becoming more and more popular. Therefore, there is a growing demand for drainage systems dedicated to such roofs, with appropriate inlets or adapters. On the other hand, modern architecture, characterized by simple, geometric shapes, looks for similar solutions – square gutter systems are the answer here.

Which gutter systems are best-selling: classic – semicircular or modern – square?

The popularity of flat roof tiles, both tin and cement-concrete, is constantly growing. Traditional metal sheets and roof tiles are still the first choice of customers. This, in turn, causes investors to focus mainly on gutters with a semicircular cross-section.

Steel products have been invariably the most popular among investors for many years. However, we notice that customers are also gradually becoming convinced of the gutter systems made of PVC. However, they must meet several conditions. High quality, durability and aesthetics count. Fortunately, modern technology allows you to create such plastic products today.

Can we talk about an emerging trend in color of gutter systems? What do investors choose?

Trends in the roofing industry concern not only raw materials and shapes, but also the colors of the gutter systems and roofing. Analyzing the previous months, we can see that 3 shades dominate: graphite, black and chocolate. A new, interesting tendency is the clear emphasis on flashing. Investors choosing a graphite-colored sheathing often choose silver-colored gutters.
